"Our family moved to the area in August 2005 from Dallas, Texas. One of our biggest concerns was 'How can we possibly get our kids exposed to the Arts in Northwest Arkansas?' I could either audition for All-Region band or audition for Androcles and the Lion at ALT. She wanted me to do band, but it was an incredibly easy choice. From then on, I was hooked on ALT.
Arts Live gave me the opportunity to not only work with actors my own age, but work with adult actors in the community, which I feel was incredibly valuable. When I say ALT has been a home away from home for me, I really do mean it. At one point during high school, I was there almost every night, whether for rehearsal or one of the 3 classes I was taking.
I'm at Northwestern University as a theatre major now, surrounded by peers that have come from all sorts of backgrounds in life and in theatre. I can honestly say, though, that the opportunities ALT offered have set me up wonderfully to succeed in Northwestern very present theatre world."
